HISTORY
The Genesis Of Catalyst
Catalyst was conceived as a Next Generation Leaders Conference in 1999 by Andy Stanley, Reggie Joiner, John Maxwell, Lanny Donoho and several young leaders. Catalyst was created to meet the felt need that existed within the church leader space for a leadership event that was focused on a new generation of church leaders. Everything within this space seemed built around a forty to sixty year old mindset and medium. This team was convinced that this needed to change.
Catalyst was able to meet that demand by creating a conference specifically focused on leaders under the age of 40. In October of 2000 in Atlanta, GA, partnering with North Point Community Church, Catalyst convened 1500 church leaders for this inaugural experience. With a unique approach to programming and learning, defined by a fun, dynamic attendee experience, leaders were personally challenged to become “change agents” within their organizations, churches and communities.
Since inception, over 90,000 leaders have made the annual trek to Atlanta to participate in the Catalyst Conference experience, and this October, once again over 10,000 young leaders will gather to experience Catalyst up close. More recently, Catalyst launched the first ever West Coast experience in Orange County, CA with 3,000 leaders in attendance.
Leadership has been the topic of focus for the Catalyst brand since inception and will continue to be so. Catalyst and the annual Conferences provide a wide cover for addressing a variety of topics specific to Next Generation Leaders, including organizational leadership, personal leadership, integrity, character, relationships, and teamwork, among others. Over the last nine years, Catalyst has grown in influence and reach, now offering two annual events on the East and West coast, regional One Day events, multiple resources, a dedicated online magazine, online community, the Filter content program, a bi-weekly podcast, and many other tools for young leaders. Catalyst has only just begun to go deeper with the Catalyst Community in taking them beyond a conference experience and into a relationship that provides ongoing support for growth and continued learning.
When I started to pray I had a picture in Spirit ( yellow bulldozer at work) It speaks of you and people like you having the same excellent Spirit, Joshua Generation at work.
For those radicals I pray apostolic anointing — which I call bulldozer anointing :)
When seeing people who are called by God to do major building work in His Kingdom I see bulldozer which represents Holy Spirit power that pushes large & heavy quantities of soil, sand, stones, rubble, all the obstacles, hindrances and drag.Prepare the way for the Lord so people hearts are ready!! the Lord says.
We are indeed involved in building new highway for the Lord being His doors His gates now and showing people the right way to the Father both in church and outside the church. What a privilege and honour to be His Kingdom builders!! Whenever a big work of God and shift in peoples lives are involved there is great resistance of the enemy. But the flood of the Holy Spirit is going to wipe out the adversary power in Jesus Mighty name!
May the Holy Spirit give you extra strength and perserverance to push all that is not of God and may it be with anointing of ease.
I pray right now and I cancel the power and authority of any spoken word that is not lined up with God’s divine will and purpose for ur destiny in Kingdom of God! I release blessing & favour over you and all genuine Kingdom Builders to prosper in all things both spiritually and naturally. Abundant life belongs to u I declare in Jesus Name! Words for you in this warfare Isaiah 45:1-3, 40:3-11.
Prophetic words and prayer received from one of our dear intercessors named Dorota, located in Poland.

Lilibeth recently participated in Global Immersion Module (GIM) -2010 and shares her experience abroad.
1. How did you hear about GIM?
I heard about GIM through the UCLA Anderson Riordan Program Office.
2. Why did you choose to apply to GIM?
Interning abroad the fastest growing economy of our lifetime seemed like an opportunity to be seized. I was extremely excited to have the opportunity to travel to China in a safe yet challenging environment.
3. Please describe the high points of the trip for you.
The highlight of my trip, besides learning about the culture one on one, was doing the research and interacting with our customer regarding ways to improve their marketing and global reach. I was able to spend numerous hours of straight research regarding China’s economy, politics, and culture. I learned so much from my interaction with our customer and thus confirmed the trends I read about. Another highlight was traveling inside China to volunteer for the day with the children of migrant workers. I was able to teach English and play sports with some of the youth of China. The children’s high energy and enthusiasms made me feel appreciated and one of their own. Lastly, attending the World Expo and exploring the China Exhibit was another highlight of my trip. After long hours of wait and anticipation, I was able to enter China’s shining jewel on display – their country. I learned about China’s extensive investment in CO2 reductions and their heavy push towards green sustainability.
4. What was a challenging aspect of the trip and how did you overcome?
The biggest challenge I faced was not being able to communicate verbally. I’ve studied abroad in Europe where I was at least able to understand a bit of the language like Spanish and French. Even in Morocco, I was able to blend my Spanish, French, and little bit of Arabic into small conversational chats. However, I never experienced the complete lack of oral communication as I did in Shanghai. At times, I had to resort to a lot of facial expressions and tone of voice.
5. How did GIM support your efforts as a positive global change agent?
I was able to explore and learn hands on about starting a technology venture in China. As a software engineer, I want to leverage my experience as a critical problem solver to improve the everyday life of developing nations. There is a lot of technology already developed that can be applied across the world cost effectively. I always wanted to be part of that innovative generation that applies existing technology to solve everyday societal issues such as infrastructure, telecommunications, education, and much more. Through the GIM I was able to explore the possibilities of investing abroad in such technologies. GIM partnered me up with a high tech start up company that was aligned with my long term goals and thus provided the sandbox for me to explore.
6. Would you recommend GIM to other prospective graduate students? Please qualify your response.
I would definitely recommend GIM to anyone interested in learning more about international business development. Through GIM I was able to get once in a lifetime mentoring sessions with some of the biggest businessmen in China. I gained so much perspective hands on. Through my unique everyday experience I was able to make this opportunity extremely unique. One can read about China online as much as you can, however, being there in person your eyes, ears, olfactory senses are open to an entire different experience. China is a very private country and once can only experience China in person.
